Audio: Security beefed up in Yendi ahead of Ya Na funeral
Security has been beefed up in Yendi in the Northern Region ahead of the late Ya Na Yakubu Andani’s funeral Friday.
Checks by Adom News reporters indicate that the Police is taking no chances to ensure smooth funeral rites are performed for the late king who was killed more than a decade ago.
A Mediation Committee led by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II paved way for the burial after its final report for a peace roadmap was presented to the President, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo in November.
Before then, there had been a tussle to unravel the persons behind the overlord’s killing.
Northern Regional Police PRO, DSP Mohammed Tanko, has been detailing plans by the police as far as the funeral is concerned.
Youth Chief of Dagbon, Boli Zachi I, Abdulai Murudeen is grateful to government that finally the Ya Na will be buried.
According to him, the town is ready for the funeral rites which begins tomorrow Friday.
