Ghana-EU ties stronger now – Bawumia
Vice-President Dr Mahamadu Bawumia has called for increased trade and investment between Ghana and the member states of the European Union (EU), as the Akufo-Addo government strives to achieve its vision of a Ghana Beyond Aid.
Dr Bawumia made the call when he addressed members of the EU delegation to Ghana at the Ghana-EU Political Dialogue on the theme: “EU partnering Ghana Beyond Aid”.
According to Dr Bawumia, the number of trade missions from the EU to Ghana has increased since last year, “a clear sign that Ghana is forging healthy relations with EU member states.”
He believes strengthening these partnerships will aid the Ghana Beyond Aid agenda.
For her part, the Head of the EU Delegation to Ghana, Diana Acconcia, lauded the government’s efforts at attaining the Ghana Beyond Aid agenda through the introduction of flagship programmes such as the One District- One Factory policy.
She also pledged the EU’s support in realising the Ghana Beyond Aid vision.
