The Minority in parliament is demanding a full disclosure of the Justice Brobbey report which recommended the creation of six new regions.

This follows agitations by some locals to be affected by the creation of the new regions, for proper demarcations to be done.

President of the National House of Chiefs, Togbe Afede XIV has been very vocal against the Commission’s work.

With the Constitutional Instrument already laid before parliament to go through the 21-day maturity period, the opposition MPs want the veil lifted on the report to enable them to verify its content.

At a press conference on Wednesday, 7 November 2018, the Minority leader, Haruna Iddrisu said in the interest of good governance and transparency, the report should be made public.

The Justice S. A. Brobbey report recommended the creation of Western North, Bono East, Ahafo, Savannah, North East, and Oti regions.

The Commission also recommended that the Electoral Commission hold referenda in the areas to be affected by the new regions to determine whether the constitutional threshold for the creation of new regions will be met.
