Private legal practitioner,Samson Lardy Anyenini, has asked the state to make an arrangement for police officer, Lance Corporal Godzi Frederick Amanor, who assaulted a female customer at the Midland Savings and Loans Company on Thursday July 19, to be put before a weekend court.

He wrote on his Facebook page that : “Pray – Take him to a weekend court and get the trial done same day. #ThrowHimInQuick.”

H added : “Pray – I feel so very angry to react.”

Meanwhile the Ghana Police Service has disclosed that the cop has been interdicted and being processed for court.

A statement by the police on Saturday, 21 July 2018, said “the uniform and all other police accoutrements” have been taken away from the police officer in question “pending internal disciplinary proceedings”.

The victim, Patience Safo, was ruthlessly assaulted by Frederick Amanor also known as Skalla, while holding a baby.

She had insisted on withdrawing a sum of GHS270 from the facility as her previous attempts to withdraw the money days back had failed due to a network challenge.

The officer who was servicing as a security at the financial institution was called to escort her out but ended up beating her in the process.

Management of Midland Savings and Loans in a statement has rendered an apology to the customer.

In a post on their Facebook Wall, the police further assured that all those found culpable in the case will be punished as investigations “commence into the conduct of officials of the Midland Savings and Loans Limited” where the incident occurred.
