Professional Electrician, Stephen Atugiba has been unable to raise the GH¢300,000 filing fees to enable contest as flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The aspirant who has earlier bragged he could pay his the of former President John Dramani Mahama has made a sudden u-turn and thrown his weight behind the latter.

According to him, his decision followed a lengthy discussion he had with the former president and both reach a compromise for which reason he is pulling out of the race at the dire minute.

A statement announcing his decision reads “ In a lengthy discussion with John Mahama, I can conclude that his vision matches mine. He gave me an assurance of pulling the party along, building party offices throughout the constituencies, creating jobs, empowering the youth and ensuring capacity building for the youth. Upon further discussion, he also stated unequivocally his desire to restructure the SHS system so as to make it better. Our whole discussions surrounded Developmental plans to push this country forward.

The era where items and monies meant for party work were hoarded by some persons is one of the things he’s promised to completely annihilate as far as our party is concerned. I believe all aspirants have what it takes to lead this country. Having observed and listened to them all, JohnMahama is the one who can give us victory.

JDM stands tall as far as the people’s choice on the ground in concerned. When it comes to logistics mobilization for our party, JDM standstall. Bad governance of the NPP has made JDM a god every Ghanaian isworshipping today”
